This one is easier than the counting crows thread, CRAP.

I actually had the first album when I was 10 or so, and I got their second album and I remember absolutly hating it. I remember the only song I liked on it was a 30sec wank off cover of" take me out to the ball game."

Oh yeah, I think these turdwipes covered the Jefferson's Theme.

An excellent drummer, good friend and co-worker of mine is in a touring band. The Spin Docs are opening for them in a few weeks at some all day festival.

For the past two weeks, when we brew the afternoon coffee, one of us will go into a crouch, shake our head side to side in a mock groove, put on a smug "ain't these lyrics CLEVER" grin and start singing
SHUH MUH NUH NUH, SHUH MUH NUN NUH, SHUH MUH NOOBY NOOO, SHUH MUH NOOMY NOOMY NOOMY NOOOO...
Because that's exactly what they sound like.

Something tells me he's not looking forward to this gig.
Of course, he played to 2500 people last week and, well, let's just say I didn't.

Kernoki, you rule.

PS- They have a live album? Oh christ...

I read the recent article about the Blossoms in Magnet--such a sad story, what happened to the Doug Hopkins guy. The rest of the dudes in the band now seem like total dicks and there are a few real knee-slappers in there like:

I don't think the guy was joking.

The two biggest bands to have come out of AZ in the past 15 years have been the Gin Blossoms and.....Jimmy Eat World.

Were they better than Better Than Ezra?

I associate "Hey Jealousy" with the likes of "Good" by BTE and "Popular" by Nada Surf.

All of these songs were better than "Iris" by the Goo Goo Dolls - a song which has the most calculated "alternative", "meaningful" lyrics and music.
Paul Westerberg and Dave Pirner must wince when they hear this song.

I remember my first band's first show (in 9th grade) we did quite the rendition of "Good". "Popular" was either the first or second song I learned on guitar.

Ohh the memories...
