I have twice now driven many miles to see them, both times completely worth it.
last fall w/ the upright bass player, they played a entirely new set of music that moved me just like all the songs I was familiar w/ that I heard them play before
not crap, very inspiring
also: ex orkest hits me, almost, almost as hard as the normal ex stuff, just in a slightly different area. it sounds real good real loud

12Very not Crap.
Have got to see em thrice once w/S.Youth, once @ the Fugazi/Shellac show.
The third @ the Lounge Ax was unbelievable. The whole place just sounded like we were inside a large organic machine. It was so heavy and brilliant that I'm just going to stop right now.

Can anyone show me a link to the exs website? I haven't heard anything about them for awhile.

16I think it would be kick ass if The Ex and Fugazi did a "In the Fishtank recording". Infact.... thats the best idea I've had all month.

Hey,
I just saw that the Ex were playing in Chicago @ the Bottle on Wed Sept 15.
There are other U.S. tour dates up, too.
Yeah!

18great band. Almost (but not quite) blew Fugazi off the stage.
Not Crap, waffle factor one, because many of their fans tend to be smelly.

19CRAP with a Waffle Factor that would be unimaginable
This band used to be one of my favorites but after seeing them for a second time a few years ago I found myself feeling beyond bored out of my mind. After this show all their records started to sound the same to me and I felt an obligation to myself to sell them all. They're almost guilty of Sonic Youth syndrome. That being a band that was amazing in the 80s and into the early nineties only to peter out and release subpar material there after. While SY has released a few good albums recently and broken out of said syndrome, I just can't see myself buying another record by this band.
