I think our gov't has probably recovered extraterrestrial technology (be it from a crash-landing or some other contact) and may be in the process (or already has been through the process) of reverse-engineering some of that technology. I don't know why they'd keep it all a secret, but I think maybe that's what they (the gov't) tend to default to. Maybe Big Brother just decided this was something we didn't really need to know about. I've no proof other than the shroud of secrecy that surrounds Area 51 and the odds-on chance that extraterrestrial life exists somewhere else in the universe. (which would actually make the Mr. Universe pageant much more interesting!!)
