If this thing happened, then Tom Waits would assuredly sue the impersonator.

Whenever I think about Tom Waits, which is not often, I am reminded of this thing that a friend once said to me about Tom Waits: "The only thing worse than a beatnik is a fake beatnik."

I will never forget this quote.

Thank you, friend!

personally I admire mr. waits determination not to be used by advertising fucks to sell more cars.

As to the fake beatnik remark, this could only apply to the initial stages of his career, a rut which he escaped quite effectively (yes ok, shortly before entering his current rut). And theres plenty worse than a fake beaknik

That is indeed a great quote. I have mixed feelings about Mr.Waits. This gem sums up the doubting side of that mix. Thank you, friend of Bradley R. Weissenberger.

Bradley, I don't know whether this has been said before by others here and not that it's any of my bid'ness but I hope you won't mind if I offer this opinion: Your latest avatar is really not nice.

No offence intended if she's a member of your family or a loved one.

It really goes without saying that I do not care what you think.

However, I care a little bit that you missed the simple point of this horrible avatar yet still felt compelled to pass judgment.

Anyway, Mose Vary-Seppanen, you might want to avoid this forum for awhile. As far as "really not nice" avatars go, I'm pretty sure that you won't like my upcoming "Ramsey Family Crime Scene" series.

Ouch. No, I admit that I didn't initially get the point of your horrible avatar of Terri Schiavo with smoking cigarette added (oh my aching sides). This story wasn't exactly big news where I am. Also my compulsion to pass judgement as well as the no offence part was merely an attempt at humour (which clearly fell flat).

Thanks for misunderstanding and for your abrupt and mean response. I probably won't avoid this forum for a while as you so graciously suggested but it's likely that I will avoid you.

Based on your post, I do not understand why you would have any expectation of cordiality from me.

You made it public business. You should have sent a personal message to me like the other few folks who commented on the avatar.

Correction. That's "MV-S".
