53rage against the machine (for nu-metal.. i'd like to quantum leap that shit)
morisey (sic), and anyone within a ten-foot blast radius
the polyphonic spree (messy three-bus highway conflagration)
ted leo is a cool dude and his music is not that bad. ok, it is.
uncle tupelo was a good band, but i can see where you're coming from. still, they're from belleville--they've suffered enough.
if enough people want to kill !!! we can just go do it.

541) the beatles.... so fucking sue me!! technique over content, unbearably mannered crap that set the trend for bands who bang on about fucking 'craft' in songwriting.
which leads me neatly to..
2) Oasis. all of the above but much much less as well. set music back in the UK about 20 years.
3) Coldplay. sentimentality for people who have yet to experience anything more harrowing than their student loan arriving late.

55good call on coldplay, altho they might be going away on their own, hopefully. I couldnt take hearing that piano sequence every 5 seconds whenever a TV show decided to get dramatic.

Ted Leo? You can smite three bands and TED LEO is one of them? Wha??? Even if you dont like his stuff (which I gotta say, marks you as a man of incredibly dubious taste), is he really smite-worthy? I mean, Red Hot Chili Peppers, sure. Or, y'know, Primus. Or fucking Phish. Or, yeah, Rage Against the Machine. Or hell, most of the many, many other bands that folks have already named.
But Ted Leo? And at least half the reason I ask is it's not just that he's good, but that he just doesnt appear to be leaving that many ripples on the pond. His family tree is basically him. Or mebbe I'm wrong; have you been running across tons of "Ted Leo inspired" bands that are driving you batshit crazy enough to wish he'd never been?
I dunno, it just seems like smiting him is kinda like using that third wish to make your head into an orange.

Why not? Let's stop the trainwreck before it's too late.
I don't feel like meeting the quota of 3 bands, I turn my two extra crap bands over to the next reply for a surplus answer.

That's not entirely true.

I'm glad that you've brought this up. That CD is one truly unlistenable piece of shit. I get a bad feeling that Cocorosie is somehow creating a new, entirely innovative genre of music... one that completely sucks.
Two other bands? Off the top of my head, I'd really like to erase Sublime and 311. The world would definitely be better off without them.
