After re-reading this, i must say, salut, Code! You predicted them offing Cap.
Also, after a year of Civil War, i must admit that they've done the "Spidey goes public" thing very well. It's already bit him in the ass with the Kingpin ordering a hit that put Aunt May in a coma. I'm into it.
For all the trenendous advances we've seen in semi-mainstream to mainstream comics over the years (DC Veritgo, etc), i still prefer cheesy, mainstream episodic superhero comics more than i ever will enjoy anything by Alan Moore. Blame my reluctance to let go of my youth. Daddy's readin' his stories.
For anyone pissed off with Marvel consistantly fucking things up, you should check out
NEXTWAVE : Agents of H.A.T.E. by Warren Ellis. He is basically using all the crappest characters he could find that have actually exsisted in the marvel universe at some point, and really going to town. Properly taking the piss yet somehow managing to get marvel to publish the thing! I really enjoyed it.
Anyone tried out
Fables? I have just read a load but i'm still undecided on what i think about it.
I'm gonna give these Ultimates a whirl for sure. Think i'll start with Spidey.
Lex Luthor Man of Steel was one of the best things i read lately. My brother didn't like the artwork though.
I also dug out all of my Jeph Loeb / Tim Sale collaborations. Truly brilliant. Especially Batman : Long Halloween, Batman : Dark Victory and the masterpiece that is SPIDERMAN BLUE.
100 Bullets! Get into it people!
You're a shit DM and i want my pizza money back.
