Band: They Might Be Giants

I really, really, really hate this band. Their music is unbearably precious, and they seem to think they're much smarter than they actually are, if their records are any gauge. Oh, but they're so weird and quirky! Oh, but they're CRAP.

I know I shouldn't hold bands responsible for their audiences, but most TMBG fans I've encountered are just unbearable (i.e. playing Dungeons and Dragons or other nonsense like it, being obsessed with Rocky Horror, incessantly quoting Monty Python and the Holy Grail, being into "theatre", trying to convince everyone how terribly QUIRKY they are).

The Hello Recording Club has put out stuff by a couple of decent bands, surprisingly enough. They Might Be Giants have released one tolerable song, as far as I know: "We're the Replacements", and it's not that good. Their music is, on the whole, banal crap with a bunch of desperate and tacky window-dressing.

Sadly, this is too true.
Better yet, eat the placenta!!!

My third-or-so least favorite band ever.

The movie that recently came out about them, featuring gushing from Sarah Vowell and the like...that's like the worst cultural artifact that I could imagine existing.

Make a little birdhouse up your ass, quirky offbeat nerd man!
