Chicago expertise: tattooing?

Good people,
My husband (who is a regular participant of this board, but bullied me into posting this, because he doesn't want to look uncool) and I will be in Chicago for the T&G 25th soiree and we were thinking it might be a good time and place to get our "wedding tattoos" - matching tattoos that we have talked about for a couple of years now (we got married in October 2004).

We were hoping to get some reccomendations for artists. Anybody? It would be great if he or she knows who The Minutemen were. It would be stupendous if he or she cares who The Minutemen were!

We don't want silly tattoos. i already have some of those and my husband is a blank canvas.

Thanks fer yer help in advance.

Cherry Bomb.

I went with Patrick Cornolo - it looks like he's still there, but check out the gallery for Kim's beautiful work as well.

Amazing color and texture, decent price, clean/safe facility in the flatiron building of Wicker Park.

Good luck!

Oh, I can't promise if they care who the Minutemen were, but it is a safe bet they know who they were. I would email them and find out!

A woman by the name of Serena did mine. She was working out of her apt at the time, but I think her and her boyfriend may have moved to Seattle. She was tattooing a bunch of my friends at the time and she does amazing work. If I can find her on the web and she is still in Chicago, I will post here her details.
my mustache will be named 'Rick'.

I second Serena... she is very cool and very gentle and nice to be with... plus she played good music while she did it.... actually funny enough I remember her playing the Universal Congress Of which is like a little brother or cousin of the Minutemen. She did a tiny little one on me (I had to stop her 16 times... should have taken about 2 minutes total...ended up taking an hour... I am a little girl...) and a few friends... actually I know many may people in Chicago with work done by her.

Can't seem to find her in Googleland though... not sure if she is in Chicago anymore... (EDIT: Oh, just saw joesepi's post about Seattle...)

Thanks for the input - it is much appreciated, and I sure am intrigued by this Serena - she sounds fantastic! BUT...we are really looking for someone in Chicago, who will be there between September 8th and 10th.

We thought maybe there might be some interesting folks doing great work up there. Any leads would be excellent.

Thanks again!
Katey
