It's nice when someone bumps a thread up so that you can reply to a message that's about 50 years old.

Kelly Hogan? Wow. Haven't seen her since she was in the Jody Grind. Good, but sad memories there.

This may be a little too far in the south for most of you, but one of the great indie alt-country bands have gotten back together for a show.

The Beggar Weeds used to tour up and down and around the south, occasionally playing shows with Chickasaw Mudpuppies, etc. Anyway, they're reuniting for a show this month. Follow the link and you can listen to "Graduating" ripped direct from vinyl, and then a bunch of cassette demos which are in mono for some reason.

...and if anyone remembers the old Einstein A-Go-Go in Jacksonville, FL there's a page for them as well. Too it's not still open, it was a great place to play.

(and no, I am not/was never in the Beggar Weeds, and am only mentioning them here because thinking about Kelly Hogan got me thinking about the Go-Go and the Bold City, and there you have it...)
