It's nice to know that I'm not alone on this one.

Custard's Last Stand is like My Favorite Muffin or something; there a probably a bunch of unrelated establishments with the name from coast to coast.

There is Mustard's Last Stand (hot dogs) in Denver CO, and The Eatin' Place in Eaton, CO.

There's a Korean place in Denver called My Ong Dong that my wife and I, dumb white kids that we are, would pronounce phonetically. It became "My Own Dong", then "My Own Private Dong, starring Keanu Reeves and River Phoenix." A Korean friend of mine was kind enough to provide me with the correct pronunciation and his opinion that it was the best Korean place in Denver. He was right.

Fish and chip shops are very reliable, I have a French friend who used to photograph the best of them. One in Otley always sticks in my mind - Otley is the birth place of cabinet maker Thomas Chippendale and is in the Yorkshire Dales. Hence 'Chip in Dales'.

In the same town, 'Gay Lane Fisheries' is on, well, Gay Lane. Not inventive but it always make me smile.

Someone has hinted already at the KFC variants; 'Kirkstall Fried Chicken' looks as you might expect. To take the same branding and open 'Yorkshire Fried Chicken', though? I like that.

What I am really here to tell you about, however, is the following. My friend Shaun grew up in Doncaster, and affirms the existence of a fish and chip establishment with the following name:

'Hygenic Fisheries'
Twenty-four hours a week, seven days a month
