Utterly fantastic band (at least with regard to the early stuff; I don't know the later albums) with a lasting influence. Furthermore, they're one of the only bands I know of in which artists who attempt cover versions don't embarrass themselves. The Mono Men, Nirvana, and Crackerbash have all done fantastic covers of Wipers' songs.

It's gray and dim right now in Chicago. Perfect weather for the Wipers.

That's just b/c it is super-double-gay.

"Is This Real?" and "Mystery" are also pretty gay songs.

I mean, literally, they're gay. And great.

The first three songs on Is This Real? are remarkable. One of the best album kickoffs I have ever heard.

By "literally" do you mean they are about being gay, that they make you feel gay, or that they are "fruity-sounding"?
