I'm addicted to What Ever You Love also due to it being the first one I
bought. It always reminds me of the start of Fargo. I'm really liking the
live one from Meredith I just got.

Saw them just before xmas in Newcastle and Warren was taking the piss
out Geordie musicians such as Sting and Mark Knopfler, one minute I was
laughing my arse off the next nearly in tears at the music.

Definitely not crap.

I like all of their albums equally. They're all full of hits and misses, so much so that you could probably compile a good 4 albums out of the 6 or 7 they have made.

However, their live shows rival any other live show I have ever seen, including bands like the Jesus Lizard, Wolf Eyes, or Slint. I have seen them twice blow away a packed house of drunks, hipsters, and cokeheads. It's great to see people dumbfounded by the fact that this combination of instruments can be so intense in a live setting.

NOT CRAP.

Warren Ellis downed a fifth of Beefeater at this show.
As he got more drunk, the stories between songs got better.

I saw this tour, too, and the preambles to the songs were integral to the performance (and often funny or poignant--or both).

I laughed a lot.
The Calexico guys were pretty funny too.
