He won an award for playing Van Gogh, and he's done some other acting, but that's all I know.

His music was very garagey. It is excellent. Listen to the songs Et Moi Et Moi Et Moi, and Les Cactus (the version on YouTube is a cheesed up version and not very good) and you'll get the idea.
