power pop anyone?

Swervedriver isn't really power pop. They were more into trying to do cool stuff with guitars than they were trying to write cstchy music. If you're gonna say Swervedriver, then I'm gonna add Ride.
A good way to threaten somebody is to light a stick of dynamite. Then you call the guy and hold the burning fuse up to the phone. "Hear that?" you say. "That's dynamite, baby." - Jack Handy

Emmit Rhodes

His first solo album has a great "Paul McCartney's first solo album" flavor. It probably has allot to do with him playing all the instruments.

Brendon Benson's "Lapalco" is the newest record I've heard with that same feel. It's good.

Badfinger is the not crap.

Da Trick wins hands down, tho..

Me three.

And Emmit Rhodes.

And McCartney/Wings. Does that count? Or is it like calling the Beatles "Beatle-esque"?

You should check out the Beatles, man. They're totally Beatle-esque.

Now we are talking!
