Do you still not fancy doing the teaching English as a foreign language? Was it TEFL or TESOL? Many of my close friends and family have done this. My sister did it for a while and is now an English teacher which is good.

It was TESOL, a year's course, which I thought would be better for me as it's really in-depth and I would come out feeling a lot more ready to go somewhere far away and teach English. I guess I could do the TEFL. But to be honest, now I've had a think about it, I think my first priority should be to get out of Cleveland and be somewhere more interesting. Then I can sort the rest of my life out. Maybe see you down there!

Last weekend I bought a kit amp from an individual. It's a circuit from ax84.com. It was very poorly assembled and didn't work so well. So I decided to totally rewire it.

Last night I started removing the components. He did the annoy, unprofessional trick of wrapping wire and component leads around the terminals before soldering. This makes components immensely difficuly to remove. It took about 3-4 hours, and the solder he used smelled very bad. It will take me less time to rebuild the amp than it took me to disassemble the amp.

I discovered today that Tony Benn is doing an "Audience With" show near me at the Fairfield halls in Croydon next week. This has given something nice to look forward to as things are dull as you like in world at the moment. The evening starts with a short speech followed by an open discussion with audience

"It's about re-introducing politics to the people" explains Benn

I'm currently telling my friends of this and twisting their arms to go.
If you're in that area I suggest you should think about going, it sounds good.

Just finished helping do sound for Bumbershoot at the Experience Music Project stage. My 'boss' has a full blown MILO rig crammed into a small space...jesus. Sounds great, but you can fill an arena with this thing. Being one knob turn away from the ability to destroy everyone's ability to hear/remain 'continent' can artificially inflate one's ugly ego...

Goddamn monitor EQ fails right on the main vocal channel on the band were the main vocal is the center attraction. Flailing repatching maniac central. At least the bypass relays worked.

Actually, I ran monitors most of the night. More work, less fun.

Of course, most of the bands were competent but LAME. Music mostly sucks.
