Little details from your day

Tonight I got home from moving the store I work at earlier than expected and was told that I didn't have to come in tomorrow morning. In celebration of being granted part of my holiday weekend off, I cooked supper for myself.

-steak tenderloin marinaded in secret family recipe, rubbed with Mediterranean spices, seared in butter/olive oil, rested atop a portabella-madeira cream sauce
-asparagus from the garden in lemon butter with pine nuts and sea salt
-small slice of sourdough bread with genoa salami and tepenade
-salad of garden cherry tomatoes and fresh hierloom cucumbers with olive oil, sea salt, chips of pecorino romano cheese, and fresh basil

Asparagus from your garden? I am SOOOOOO jealous.

The All-Clad cookware is expensive, but I recommend investing in at least one frying or sauce pan. A wider pan is best because it can be used for roasts and whole tenderloins, etc.

The asparagus is mostly that of a purple variety that provides spears thoughout the summer and into the early autumn, assuming that one tends to the trimming of shoots so they continue to be sent up from the roots.

My pee is going to smell funny tonight. Hee. Silly amino acids!
