I should add this one to the list!

8/21, Bottom Lounge

This local trio's natural inclinations are artsy and a little mathy--their bio compares their previous releases to stuff by Dianogah and Polvo, among others. But the new one, The Patriots (Roydale), is supposed to be a straight-up rocker, a la AC/DC or early Urge Overkill. I'm not convinced--for one thing, the hooks just aren't there. And despite all the twists and turns and rises and falls, the record sounds flat, as if the band isn't sure of itself either. The respectful nods to Mission of Burma work in their favor, but I can't hear a lick of "Highway to Hell" in this stuff.

Um, did you find out about the ring tone before or after you let him be yr manager?

And since you are not calling him an "ex-manager," why is he still there? I hope he's getting you top-dollar gigs and riders that net you yr fill of red meat, drugs and hookers.

From allmusic.com:

"A Sun That Never Sets"

"...Twilight, indeed. And not because Neurosis has altered its sound; experimentation and exploration is indeed a laudable, brave task, especially in the realms of noise rock and metal, where audiences can be rather unforgiving; twilight because there is a paucity of memorable material present on this Albini production, quiet, loud, or in between."

From Cosmic Debris:

Kind of interesting the first time around, but God knows I've sat through enough spoken word in my life that unless it's live and the performer is naked, most of it's pretty indistinguishable from one another. Recordings especially - it was cool when Jack Brewer and Bazooka Joe were doing this 15 years ago - and they weren't even being original at that point - but the free-rock-jazz combo (of Damon Che, Mathew Taylor, and Agustino Tilotta here) with the loud chick (Giovanna Cacciola) screaming about things in general has just been done to death.

What if the drummer is naked?

As I have learned, rock is never really "free".
Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead is pureley coincidental. Void where prohibited. Some assembly required. Subject to change without notice. Times approximate. Simulated picture. Driver does not carry cash.

I know this is an old topic, but this review of my band's last album was, uhm, harsh.

From Rolling Stone .com

It's hard to fathom why The Eye of Every Storm, Neurosis' ninth studio effort, runs almost sixty-nine minutes. A three-track EP could have made the same point quite sufficiently. Instead, this album of trippy, industrial-metal-with-hushy-bits is ponderous and self-indulgent. But Neurosis is clearly not without talent. Conceptually there are a few promising buds of sonic-psychological exploration and while there are some interesting lyrics, the vocals of dual singers Steve Von Till and Scott Kelly are half-crazed and buried so deep in the mix that it's difficult to hear. Alas, everything remains bolted inside frustratingly narrow parameters. If Neurosis would use their abilities more progressively, they might just be a noteworthy, new-millennium prog-rock band. Let's hope this veteran Bay Area sextet get it right next time.

The only review a band of mine had was a pretty good one. The only bad things they had to say were about the drumming. The bad news, from my point of view, was that I was the drummer. Hopefully, I've improved...

I honestly think that you can listen to almost any music in the world, and focus on the negative aspects of it, and write a bad review of it. I mean, in my case, it was my shitty drumming, but for the rest of you, I bet it was just the reviewer being a dick.
Why do you make it so scary to post here.
