we made a little Shellac Video

This video reminds me of some educational film I saw when I was a kid at day-camp about dental health. A vampire was sitting behind a desk telling you (the camera) how you can't escape plaque in your teeth. He got more and more threatening until the camera tries to escape through the castle-like round stairwell behind you. Every floor that the camera went to would be the same room that the scary dental vampire was standing in to begin with. Dentist vampire would just be sitting there with his arms folded saying how there was no escape, no escape, no escape. Tremendously horrifying.

This was the same day that some kid named Ari put his big coat on and wedged himself into the wall where the room divider curtain goes in. He was stuck and the camp counselor just referred to him as a crybaby and told me to stop helping him and come watch the TV with the other kids.

So what I'm trying to say is, thanks for the horrible memories, dimpfelmoser.

there are several reasons

1) Not all of us are in a band
2) Musicians are by and large bad film makers
3) If people do a video for a band they are actually in it's usually crap cause they lack the crucial distance
4) We didn't do a Video as such. We did the filming as part of another project, had some leftover footage that we felt the need to recyle, went through some musical options and liked Shellac best.
No big deal

BTW, the area around Hermannplatz has turned into quite the ghetto in the past few years, don't you think?

Well, I think I would have noticed cause I live there. Put probably people who live in a Ghetto wouldn't describe their environment as a Ghetto.
Actually I live one Subway stop to the North, which is supposed to be the cool part of the area, but it's all the same to us.

Actually, I was thinking of Gneisennaustraße. I used to hang out there pretty often back in '99. There was this cool bar, X-Cafe, right near the corner of Mehringdamm, I'm pretty sure it's closed now. Anyway, I used to have happy memories of that area.

Just this summer, I was back there again for the first time in 6 years and it looked kind of .... verkommen.

It came as a bit of a surprise.

Please tell me that this 'project' involves German techno vampires.

On planes.

I'm sorry I have to disappoint you, the project is actually a remake of Casablanca, Breakfast at Tiffanys, Run Lola Run and Godard's À bout de souffle, all rolled into one film and clocking in just under 16 minutes. I kid you not. Hard to imagine I know, but we did it.
