Chavez is rapidly becoming yet another South American despot loon. Repressive, extravagant, and more than a little squirrelly.

I wanted him to be a leftist populist check and balance to US hegemony, backed by oil money/power. But I don't have any faith in his intentions or methods any longer.

Which ones? That Bush is the devil? Bush is a total failure as a president. Calling him the devil accomplishes nothing other than making Chavez look like a nut.

The US is dedicated to the domination and exploitation of the peoples of the world? Hyperbole.

This kind of rhetoric is no more interesting or useful than Bush's black-and-white, Axis of Evil bullshit.
