17I have to say, as much as Dale Crover and Coady Willis are incredibly fucking awesome drummers, it's kind of pointless to have them both playing if they're both playing the same thing. That's a little disappointing that they didn't try to do more.
That said, the videos are still cool, and the "mirror effect" of a lefty & righty drummer is pretty neat, too.

I'm sure they do more sometimes, but I also find the super unison thing to be amazingly cool. I can only imagine the sheere foce and movement of air. I find the natural push and pull and constant flams of two drummers playing in unison to be very pleasing.

From what I understand of the new record, there's plenty of great stuff that they do that is independent of each other and not just doubling up.
I don't doubt it for a second, as Crover and Lombardo put that to pretty good effect in FantomasMelvins Big Band.
The doubling up thing is a great tool if you are shit tight like that though, live it's just a monster. Wall of percussion!
I also love the sharing of the floor tom.
These links are officially proclaimed:
AWESOME!!
Although I would have loved to have seen OVEN, which they played the beginning of at the end of the last one... i'll just have to wait for the show I guess.
