NEVER CRAP! 154 is easily one of the greatest albums ever recorded. Seeing them live in 2000 was the greatest musical experience of my entire life. What was surprising about that show was how funny Colin Newman was onstage. It's not like he was up there telling jokes; his stage persona is what was so funny- kind of this silly, yet wise guy. Graham Lewis was also super intense on stage as well. Anyone who does not like the music of WIRE is mentally retarded.

NOT CRAP, no way. Saw them in 2002 and was blown away. Of course, the first three albums can't be touched, but I actually enjoy a good lot of their mid-to-late '80s first reunion/beat combo stuff. Not as much as the first three, or the Read and Burn EPs, or Send, but I still like some of it. Also, the Behind the Curtain compilation is pretty great.

i am truly baffled that this band isnt worshipped whole heartedly on this board.

the new "wire on the box" cd/dvd set is 17.99 and is one of the most intense/creepy performances i have ever seen.
