Really? I think Jagger gives one of his better vocal performances in this song. Just as good a song as anything on Exile on Main St. Nice and stompy.

Is stompy a word? Oh well. Nice and stompy.

The chorus is fine, and way it resolves back to the verses is great, but the way Jagger sings the verses is horrible. It really annoys the fuck out of me.

Funny, I had to break this album out because I haven't heard it since Pavement broke up. This is actually my least favorite Pavement album. Those two songs aren't really that good for Pavement, but they aren't as bad as "Cream of Gold" or the snoosefest that is "Major Leagues." I dunno, they lost their sense of humor on this album...or they let Spiral Stairs write the songs. Or maybe it was Godrich being too sophisticated. Whatever it was, it's not good. But then there's Carrot Rope...like they were ending the album as if they were saying, "Don't worry, we didn't forget how to be ourselves." That was an instant classic Pavement song.

Surely you must refer to the bonus tracks you get on the CDs and not to Expressway to yr Skull and White Cross.
You're not talking about Expressway to yr Skull and White Cross, do you?
Please tell me, that you're not talking about Expressway to yr Skull and White Cross, as in shitty songs.

The first side on both these albums is completely amazing. 2nd sides are kind of hit and miss (expressway being an exception). Rarely listen to side b on these.
