Most profoundly NOT CRAP.

Outstanding band that will likely only get better with time.

I'll admit that I miss the band's first drummer, Chris. Everyone else in the band looked like your basic crusty punk, he sported a pomp of Johnny Cash height. He played drums that were just huge (not the size of the kit, but the size of each individual drum) and hit them very hard. he also owned his own wine shop in Savannah, GA.

He left, I think to pursue the wineshop full-time. he was a nice guy, I miss him, but Kylesa are still just terrific.

I'm no real fan of the heavy stoner/psych rock thing but my band played with them in (ironically) Bismarck, ND and they were really, really great folks. I got a lot of enjoyment out of their set if only marvelling at their sheer vlolume which was staggering.

Kylesa, I may never buy one of your records, but you are NOT CRAP.

Youngstown? Shotgun, did you go to Emissions from the Monolith? Did you know Greg is selling the Nyabinghi? That's a tragedy. Best small venue for heavy music I've ever visited.

I've seen them a couple times, including there (I think) and opening for High On Fire. A fantastic live band with a gripping, idiosyncratic sound.
