4How could one of the best bands of all time be crap?
Absolutely, positively not crap!

5Not crap but severely overrated. Severely.
It's progressive rock with a lot of constraints (every song tends to plod along at the same tempo) with wayyy to much blues cheese, and not a tremendous amount of talent.
This accessibility is all the more reason why DSOM is the best selling rock record of all time.
I think even blatant PF rip-off bands like Pendragon are a bit more interesting.

The D & D player who existed inside of me 28 years ago loves it when unicorns tell me about bands named Pendragon. I get a funny feeling inside.
Roger Waters gets bonus points for showing up in Rolling Stone magazine in recent years and admitting that "only a real wanker would come up with lyrics like Breathe. Breathe in the air."

7I actually prefer Meddle and Wish You Were Here over DSOM. They're good albums, but it's like jeeze... They're not that great. Not worth sitting in a planetarium and watching lazers to...
I'm not really a Pendragon fan...
They do have a neat logo, though.

Oh, DIP.
(hello, Tipcat)
I can't hate the Floyd. They are steeped in nostalgia for me, of many evenings spent in my cousin Scott's room, doing my math homework, waiting for my mom to come home from work.
I still listen to "Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast" once every two weeks or so.
Not crap.
