A firm not crap. Saw them live and it was pretty stunning (in its simplicity, too -- they don't try to pull any "let's run around and act crazy" schtick, they just came out and blazed). The drummer IS phenomenal, watching him at work is jaw-dropping. I do agree that he overplays a bit, especially live. Remission is one of the best metal records of the past five years, 'cause the riffs are more from a rock basis than a galloping, sharp-edged metal basis. Leviathan does slay, tho I could really do without the guest vocalists, they weaken otherwise strong songs. A few qualifiers, sure, but in the end a great band.
