Hi everyone. Our band is not happy with our current rehearsel space and we are thinking about moving to the new warehouse on Ogden and Grand run by Music Garage. The guys just built the studio and are straight from New York where another studio is currently up and running. I just wanted to see if anyone had any feedback about these guys before we commit to a contract. They seem to have their shit together and there are many great features that I never even knew could exist in a practice space. Their website:

Any insight would be most appreciated.
Thanks.

Smokeless air, clean carpets, a PA of suitable power for the room and a complete lack of mirrored walls?

5Scott (owner) had asked us how loud we were during my first contact with him on the phone, to which I replied, "extremely." When we signed the lease I reminded him of that.
Part of the lease agreement was that we would drywall the room we were in before we played in it. I was fine with that. We drywalled it.
We played all of three minutes after the room was complete before he comes into the room screaming full bore that we were too loud. It's been about 10 years, but I think the first words out of his mouth were, "If you hit those fucking drums again, I'm going to break your legs" or something to that effect. There was definitely a threat a bodily harm, which was amusing since he's about as big as Shirley Temple.
We eventually moved to a shittier room for the same rent despite all the work we had done on the previous room. We would have left, but practice spaces were rare and we were willing to accept that slight.
He once threatened the bass player's life when he held the studio door open for another tenant that was across the hall from us. I can't recall the particulars of that event since I wasn't there.
These stories about Scott aren't rare around these parts. He is a notorious cocksucker. My experience with him has been relatively tame. When he's come up in conversation, two unrelated people have declared, "I can't believe no one has killed that guy yet."
There are plenty of musicians in this area that will back up what I have said, with their own stories that are far worse. I guarantee it.
Everything I've written is under the assumption that he's still the owner/manager of Music Garage. Something may have changed.

6Thanks for the insight, Vockins. It think the guy we've been dealing with is named John, but I could be wrong. He's got messy brown hair, is kind of skinny, and is just a little tweaked out.
The volume factor that you mentioned concerns me a lot, since we are also a very loud band and would consider murder if that shit was imposed upon us.
Was this in Brooklyn???
Shit man, I don't know what to do now.................
