World Series 2006 Tigers v Cards

by the way, everybody...

david eckstein, the shortstop from the cardinals, is remarkably small for a baseball player. however, he makes up for his lack of size with gritty play and "all out" effort. he's a player's player. if you were to ask any manager if they would take 9 David Eckstein's on the field, the answer would be "yes" followed by a promise of the World Series championship.

let us all bow down before David Eckstein.

all hail Eckstein.

World Series 2006 Tigers v Cards

100
fuck all of you.

seriously...as a lifelong cardinals fan i can honestly sit here and tell you that this team has no business winning the world series this year...but, at the same time...isnt that what makes baseball the greatest game on the planet?

yes, the tigers will spend a lot of time fielding routine ground balls in the spring of '07....but, this is what major league baseball comes down to in the post-season.....P-I-T-C-H-I-N-G.

the cards starting pitching and bullpen were...um, unpredictable at best throughout most of the season. but yet here we are...arnt we?

i love national league baseball. i hate pretty much everything the american league stands for. that said, this world series seems so improbable and ridiculous to me that i cant help but relish every moment of it. the fact that all the talking head douchebags on espn will curl their lips in unison at the unimportance of this world series in 2006 makes me smile. it makes me smile because it only serves to reinforce to myself the things i love about baseball.

everything jim rome loves about baseball, i hate.
everything that douchbag on around the horn loves about baseball, i hate.
everything 87% of the population of new york and boston love about baseball, i hate.
and even though i hate 87% of the people that live in saint louis, i love what they love about the game of baseball. and this year the dice rolled in our favor.

certainly not the greatest world series team of all time, but fuck anyone who says it was a letdown to baseball and its fans....fuck them all.
