The new new record? http://pitchforkmedia.com/article/record_review/39284/The_Walkmen_Pussy_Cats.They didn't write it. I'm guessing you might like the original better.

Walkmen=uninspiring unoriginal CRAP.

i was talking about their last actual original release. you should perhaps read the post, it makes that clear.

I don't acknowledge trite write-offs. you probably think shiner are important and us maple are the best band since scratch acid. with all due respect, either elaborate or get off the podium. especially if you can't offer a similar alternative, and don't even like anything in the realm (which is highly likely given the forum we are in).

the drummer is very original and talented, the overall sound is hard to pin, there are no immediate contemporary comparisons. i personally like the sound and i feel they are doing something fresh in pop music. the attitude isnt flamboyant, ironic posture, its sincere tunes. the vocalist is a fucking belter. the lyrics are clever and offer no bullshit posturing. you don't like them, thats fine.

youre three second write off opinion means nothing.

It's cool, I didn't feel like a debate, either. My soap box speeches are usually pretty short and sweet.

But how about this new album?

A couple of nights ago my brother's drunken roommate chased me around outside a bar trying to vomit on me. He has a reputation for vomiting often and being able to do so at will particularly when he's intoxicated.

While he chased me (with his finger jammed down his throat), he sang a song that I later found out was "The Rat" by the Walkmen. At the time it just sounded like the rantings of a stroke victim.

I downloaded this song the next day and felt that it was appropriate "gonna chase you around a bar then puke on you" music.
