I'll take a brutal review over a glowing one because the brutal one is going to make me laugh and make my sitting here worth it but a glowing one just wont give me the laugh I'm looking for. Besides, what's the point in getting pissed about inevitability, everybody has differing musical tastes. Everybody should be able to laugh at themselves, at least that is what I think.

you can never trust a good review, especially from your friends and family. i totally agree - i'd rather hear constructive criticism than, "you're so good." unless the person is falling over themselves to say it, it just doesn't seem authentic. it seems like some people are afraid to say what they really tihink.
