I've always wanted to do it, but never sought it out.
Every person I know who's pledged that acid has given them the answers to the really big questions has been a douchebag. Self absorbed assholes, most of them. It sounds really good when its explained to you in depth, but like Angus said, you've got to consider the source. The people who have blown my mind and made me think "wow, they're the real deal" have never needed or taken LSD. Maybe this is why I never really took it that seriously. Who knows, maybe they are just "transcending selfishness" or something. If that's what its about, then whatever... I'll stick with these fluffy green buds right here.
I'm still open to taking it though, just not with these douchebags.

47NOT CRAP! Until you try it, you really have no idea what it is. Once you are on it though, it won't be unfamiliar. It is you. You go quickly to a very stripped down version of you, like you were at 6 months old. Everything strange and new and turned up to 11. Very pure and powerful. Then everything starts coming back. That very simple thing is slowly put back into context and the context is seen for what it is, very arbitrary and very retarded. For me, this is the source of much laughter and feeling of liberation. The result is less an expansion of mind and more contraction, as I identify the useless shit and reprioritze the good stuff, like good records, good friends, and soft pants.
If you decide to try it for the first time do tons of research first. This could be the difference between the best night ever and a trip to the Darkside. (Darkside not as cool as it sounds)

This will happen, unless it doesn't happen. In which case something else will happen.
That's being on drugs for you.

You've got 8 or 9 totally idle hours to spend on it, yeah?
Oh, yes. I have absolutely nothing else to do with my time. I'll PM you a half hour beforehand, and we can PM our way thru the kosmos.

49My one experience with acid (a friend's older brother thought it would be funny to put some in a bottle of soda at a party. I was one of the lucky ones who drank out of a blue cup...) was so upsetting that I had no desire to try it ever again, even though I knew full well that the circumstances of my trip practically guaranteed a very bad experience.
I don't like drugs in general. I was reluctant to even take the painkillers I got prescribed for surgery/recovery from an accident/oral surgery because they made me feel horrible.
I've done enough drugs for me, and have no desire to do any more. So fuck you for saying I'm missing out on some Great and Meaningful experience.
My life is pretty amazing to begin with, because I'm alive. I could have been dead. I lived, and I don't need some psychedelic experience to tell me how beautiful life is, maaaaan.
If you feel you need them, good for you. But I'll stick to coffee and sugar.
