I can only come up with two, by Jeremy's tyrannical rules:

1. Enablers - Output Negative Space
2. Young Widows - Settle Down City

Some honorable mentions that can't make the top 10:

1. Tubers - s/t (new band from 12 hour turn folks)
2. Sunn - Black One (simply not as good as the whites)
3. Blame Game - Ask Someone (I can't vote for my own fucking band)
4. OM - Conference of the Birds (cool for about 3 listens, and only side B. Not as good as the first one, and I would rather listen to Dopesmoker anyway)

Still, only six total. New Joanna Newsom chokes on some mule rod, the melvins are the melvins and never put out a consistently kick-ass record from start to finish, Harvey Milk's record is only good for that "crush them all" song, and its only good for about 5 minutes. God, please tell me why I've been so critical this year? Is it because I am poor? This year for me has been a year for opening up to much older music, and compared to Zuma, Harvest, Tonight's the Night, Tres Hombres, Easter Everywhere, Soft Machine 3/4/5, Vincebus Eruptus, and Kinda Kinks, everything in 06 sucks eggs.

the xela album is great, i heard it last week and liked it very, very much.

Acquiring these now so I can hear them.

Some records that will make my 2006 list:

Scott Walker "The Drift"
STNNNG "Fake Fake"
Boris "Pink"
Uzeda "Stella"

For the first time in a few years, it is going to be really difficult for me to narrow it down to 10.
I make music/I also make pretty pictures

1. Holy Sons - Decline of the West (in my "for all time" top ten list)

2. Enablers - Output Negative Space

3. Bonnie Prince Billy - The Letting Go

4. Ernest Dawkins' New Horizons Ensemble - The Messenger/Live at the Original Velvet Lounge

These are albums I know I will love and listen to many years from now. There are others I either haven't listened to enough to make a call, or they fell victim to brain-fog.
