Look at baseball and American football. Can you honestly say these aren't as complicated (if not more) than rugby? Having moved to the USA from Ireland, I am consistently dazzled by the average barfly's knowledge of batting averages, plays and strategies.

7I agree, American football is a crazy sport. It's like a big chess game between to coaches. All that body armour is lame. Has anyone watched the USA in the Rugby World Cup? Wooosssses.

But why the fuck do Americans call the baseball champs the "world series"? Playing Canada occassionly is hardly the "world".
