Any live Braniac would be a gift in this holiday season.

I think Brainiac was well on their way to changing rock music forever. Some might say they did. I can't help but think that Radiohead would not be hailed as the genius some think it is if those chaps were competing with a Brainiac that was 10 years into their career. There is nobody today that could compete with them (no slight to the host's stellar band - its a different ballgame).

Brainiac made very intense, very arty and very very well rehearsed music come across like an off the cuff balls-out rock attack like nobody else. Electroshock for President was a hint of greatness we sadly will never see fully developed. I will tip one out for Tim tonight at the bar. You all should too.

I saw them in LA in 96(?) when Trans Am and Neutral Milk Hotel opened for them.. at Spaceland I think. Great great show.. blew the previous two out of the water.

Then I saw them a few months before Timmy died. This was at Bottom Of The Hill in San Francisco (Delta 72 opened, I think). They were debuting their Electro-shock For President material, just before the EP came out, and the new material was totally next level. The EP itself was really far more subdued and less fun than the live versions of those songs. Hopefully someone has a great recording of some of their early 97 shows, because the live Electro-Shock needs to be heard.

oh yeah duh not crap

Flash Ram is the live mp3 I have queued on soulseek! The user is "gypsykid72" but I feel bad posting this, because now the poor kid is gonna have half of EA stealing his bandwidth.
I have another full set, Live at the Aardvark Ballroom downloading RIGHT now at a pretty nice speed. I should have it in the box within the hour I hope!
