Has anyone seen this? it's on showtime (so I have to tape the new episodes when I'm at my parents' house) and is about a serial killer that kills serial killers while holding down a day job as the blood spatter expert for Miami PD's forensics dept. fucking hilarious, squirmy and excellent.

really compelling story line for the first ten episodes, too.

you can stream episodes one and two here.

I'm totally hooked! I would never think of reading the books that it is based on, but the show, while over the top, is incredibly original.
Michael C. Hall has surprised me - he's made a surprisingly successful change from his character on 6 ft. under.
Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

I enjoyed the first two episodes, but I had my doubts. The writing seemed a little soft and forced. But after that, things really smoothed out, especially once Hall had a chance to sell the idea of the character, which he did very well. It really fucks with you to sympathize with a serial killer.

We never miss an episode.

I fucking love this show. It will be dead in its timeslot once the sopranos comes back on.
The character of Dexter's sister sucks. I have yet to determine if she was written to be that annoying or if its the actress. I guess I can blame the actress as Dexter and the Ice truck killer character are fucking great.

I agree. after the first episode, I was kinda "meh" as it was a little too grisly, and quirky, but not that great. However, once they got into the swing of it and the characters fleshed out a little, it's fantastic. I've been taping the series, which is fun. I'm sad that there are only two episodes left in the season. there's so much that is still open ended.

I hope it sticks around. They have signed on for a second season. I love how the story has been building from episode to episode. I think the sopranos really lacks that (at least in the first two seasons I saw. Each episode of the sopranos seems really self-contained-almost sitcom-like. meh.

I think it's the character. She was terrifying as the lead in the Exorcism of Emily Rose, and was an exceptional physical actor. I think she's good, but the character is supposed to get on your nerves with how unreasonable she is towards Dex. Pretty much the entire cast is great. the sex-obsessed asian dude kills me. I really like the 'Angel' character, too. I hope he makes it. and Doakes? hilarious: "I'm watching you motherfucker."

love this show. it started off with potential, and has reached it by ten. ten has been the best episode so far, it's clever, and keeps a bit of lightness with dexter's odd sense of humor. the supporting cast is somewhat mediocre, but they seem to be developing more as they have litte "skeletons" of their own come out.

(spoiler edited by moderator--highlight to read):
the real icetruck killer (lamest name for a serial killer by the way) is fucking creepy, and does a superb job at it. the fake ice killer looks a bit like albini (just had to throw it out there...)

not crap. good show.

spoiler: for those who haven't watched but plan on it, don't read ahead.
(edited by moderator--highlight with cursor to read):
the files from the massacre where dexter was left were destroyed. so something is being kept hidden from him, that his father didn't want him to know about, the thing is where does rudy come into play with that? rudy is pieceing together dexter's early lifefor him that he has surpressed with the murders. there isn't really anything that clues you to how he knows all about dexter's life yet. maybe their brothers, or blood related?

notice dexter is starting to feel human emotion? I can't wait to see how it all unfolds.
