La Crosse is a great town, I have many fond memories, saw a very good Shellac show there once

Wellington, New Zealand. Small, beautiful, friendly, good bars, food and coffee.

San Sebastian, Spain. A great place to eat and drink and hang out till all hours of the night. And a lovely old town. And Spanish girls. And Beach... I wish I was there now.

Madison gets old fast...especially if you're a Chicago "expatriate."

Not much good music here right now...Sector Five Records has an excellent roster of bands however...they operate like Touch & Go, but they're fairly new (2003).

Hmmm...favorite cities...I'll stick to America based on lack of experience...

BIG

Chicago, IL - I don't think any American city will ever top Chicago. I'm extremely biased though.

Philadelphia, PA - What a weird city...pretty funky...the good neighborhoods and bad neighborhoods are interwoven...extremely strange colonial "homes"...the Phillies are a cool baseball team...

New York City, NY - I dunno man...it's just as cool as it gets...you just feel like you're at the center of everything...and the sprawl swallows you whole.

SMALL

Holland, MI - Like a strange wooden graveyard. I used to bury dead fish on the beach.

LaPorte, IN - Actually, it depresses me. Just a weird old feeling. And I can see it through eyes that an outsider just couldn't.

Savannah, GA - Extremely eerie, very Southern, very old.

Columbus, OH - I've spent some time in the ghettos of Columbus...wild (probably should qualify as a big city).

Madison, WI - An absolutely gorgeous flower in summer.

Alexandria, VA - More Southern than Northern really...but just by a hair.

Hilton Head Island, SC - A place for rich fucks...but you wouldn't believe how much you'd like it (for a little while).

I edited down the big ones, overdid it on the small ones. Enjoi.

14th biggest in terms of population, in fact. Also the largest in Ohio (Greater Cleveland has more people than Greater Columbus, but Columbus proper has more people than Cleveland proper.)

i was not aware that we were talking "worldwide"...

leon, mexico - some of the best food and cheapest high quality drugs you will find anywhere.

paris, france - the stench is part of its charm.

frankfurt, germany - i had one of the best/weirdest conversations of my entire life with a girl at the train station there.

tokyo, japan - the most psychedelic city i have ever been to.

Melbourne, Australia is my new adopted home town. In the space of six months I have fallen deeply in love with the place.
It has the best food I have ever tasted. Cool bars. Nice beaches. Great music scene. The talent here is making me raise my bar musically. And the women... Oh dear sweet baby jesus. The women!
Oh, and the heat and sunshine are most agreeable too.
