No this isn't the catchy name from the latest 'emo' band, but i have a serious question for you, the virtual words.
I'm taking my laptop from UK to US tomorrow and i'm just a little worried that the battery might go kaput! if i'm using it 15,000ft in the air.
What's the latest on the MacBook Pro? Are they safe from kaputin'?
Thanks in advance.
Laptops In Altitude
2Millions of people use laptops in the sky every year. If there was a danger with that, you'd probably already know about it. I think you're good to go.
Laptops In Altitude
3While there's a maximum altitude listed in your manual, and you're probably flying above that, keep in mind that the apparent cabin altitude is lower--maybe 10,000 feet above sea level, or something.
That said, there is some documented battery issue with laptops of late, so I'd check your serial number against the list of bad ones.
For my old G4 and G3, I had one of those adapters that plug into the seat's armrest--if you were concerned, you could look one of those up, though I don't think I've seen one for the MBP (which I too am using now). You could look. Most likely your only battery problem will be that you can't run the thing for the whole flight.
