The part in "Unreal is Here" by Chavez during the "Just take this with you" vocals where that one clean guitar is playing that pretty, syncopated, clean part in the foreground and the other guitar and bass are playing a really cool slightly overdriven part more in the background. It's one of those parts that doesn't seem like it should fit together at all but it sounds beautiful.

Also, the part in "The Egg" by Shiner before the final chorus where one of the guitars makes a sound like a video game bomb falling and exploding.

And oh yeah, the part in the "Billiard Player" song on the rude gesture 7" where Steve goes "I think think she's just FINE" and the song comes in and the rock returns in a most triumphant fashion at that exact moment.

Does it count if a group does it in almost every song? I'm a big fan of Yarbrough and Peoples, who scored a big hit with 'Don't Stop The Music'. In that song, and on at least one song from every album I've found of theirs subsequent to that hit, they do this really impressive and incredibly loud synth swooosh from very high to very low, where they'll leave it droning it for a few moments, then swoooosh all the way back to the top again. With a few variations, often several times in the same song. And it always knocks me out. I've DJ'd 'Don't Waste Your Time' on a few occasions and it's pretty good to watch this sound knock people, until they realise that the beat is still there and they can still dance but with a bass-induced feeling of slight dread and nervousness.

Probably loads of great JB moments belong in this thread. My favourite is in 'Doing It To Death' where he spends a good amount of time telling the band they need to change key.

I'm a fan as well. On the album The Two of Us there's a wonderful and ebullient track called "Crazy." So good.

After the solo in I'm set free by the VU and it has that really euphoric ending going back into the verse.
