Does anyone else know about Mirah? I don't see a c/nc on her yet.
She has the longest string of perfect or near perfect records I can think of right now.

2Not Crap.
My wife turned me on to the "C'mon, Miracle" record. I really enjoy her stuff.

3I have been listening to Mirah some again recently and have started to get back into her music. Very not crap, though at times there can be some very cutesy/cloying moments, but for a K Records artist, they are pretty rare.
I was really obsessed with the current K scene around 2001-2003, and after booking and playing shows with many of them, the only ones I really liked all that much as people were Mirah and Jason Anderson/Wolf Colonel. The other folks, especially Phil Elverum and Kyle Field just seemed to be weird for the sake of being weird, and only interested in their own bullshit instead of putting on engaging performances. But Mirah and Jasen, they always rocked, however quiety their rocking was/is.
My personal interactions with Mirah always seemed to be hampered by the difference in our heights that, while we were talking, made it always look like I was looking at her breasts. Since, for the most part, I wasn't.

4i really like mirah. not only is advisory committee a wonderful album from start to finish, but c'mon miracle was a phenomenal follow-up record. it is also quite fun to listen to other k. records albums (i'm thinking of the microphones/mt. eerie specifically) and listen for her voice.
mirah ranks behind nina nastasia (#1), and in front of scout niblett (#3) on my list of favorite modern female musicians.

My girlfriend was checking out a Scout Niblett record yesterday, and it reminded her of a mixture of Mirah, Nina, and PJ Harvey.

6All I really know about her is that she was born the same day I was (September 17, 1974).

7I like some songs, have never really given any of her albums a fair listen.

Mirah is good. Sometimes she sounds a little too "perfect" for me. I don't find myself listening to it much though.
I like her much though.

10On a UK tour a few years ago, she stayed round my house with another band. She was incredibly polite and kind and helpful and fun. Plus, I really enjoyed the albums she left.
So, duh! NOT CRAP.
