i've had problems with these mics and low ceilings (empty bottle? north 6?) in terms of feedback... i like these mics live, but i have always swapped them out for different mics when ever we were in places like this cause they give me problems... sound great though!

I bought a Beta 87c to use with The New Year (very quiet, almost mumbling vocals), but I hated it on Biznono's voice and ended up going back to his Beta 58. No feedback problems with either, but they use Shure in-ears -- haven't had monitoring problems since they went to that rig.

I have ended up using the Beta 87c with Shearwater, and it works great for the singer's hyper-dramatic, all-over-the-place style.

Actually sometimes the reflection from his glasses give us problems with his mic so juiced up due to his lower singing but nothing like that happened with the beta87... Empty Bottle show included.

we tried 87c's with sonic youth one night and it was a disaster!! kim sings very quiet, and needs monitors very loud AND is all over the place swinging the mic around... if she wasn't right in front of it there was so much bleed from the drums... the stage is just too loud for her to use that mic...
the mic was just too plain hot for thurston... he goes from "regular" singing on a stand and then grabbing the mic rap style and screaming... tough show, never again!! b57 for them!

glasses and ball caps... making monitor men cringe all around the world...

I still like the OM7, taped to the vocalist's lip...relatively neutral. Condensers period on a stage roaring with noisy racket can be difficult.
