12Reason is dead simple to use.
RTFM man.
If you still don't get it, there are online tutorials, and a CD/DVD called "Making Music With Reason."
A MiniMoog is hard to work if you don't know what the knobs do, but you learn what an ADSR is, how filters do their magic, and take it from there. A computer program is no different.
I've been using for 5 years now. I consider myself pretty well versed in it, and my guess is that I'm still using it to about 25% of it's potential.
I'm voting "not gay" even though some extremely gay dance music can be made with Reason. On the record, I think it's a stupid fucking set of choices. And this "7" thing means what?
Post any questions you have about this program in Tech and you'll be surprised at how much help you get, but please do it after you RTFM.

Seems an unfair reason to mark it down- people have made some pretty awful music with guitars too (and the rest)

14I think the sequencer for Reason is pretty shit and the effects aren't the best, but overall i find it canny useful. I just use it to put together some rough and ready drum tracks that i can use to back my noodlings when i'm writing at home.
You can get some pretty fucked up tracks out of it aswell if one was wanting to put some drones together.

don't know - i've never used it. i've had the native instruments 'kontakt' sampler for a while and always just go to that. i'm watching the 'sampler' video now - seems like it would be awesome for idm work.
