The amount of people swindled by his shallow crap is unbelievable.

As one of those people swindled by his shallow crap time and time again, your elaboration would be edifying.

Do tell.

It's just my opinion, I'm not sure what you want me to elaborate on exactly so just ask but just so you know- this is not a personal attack on you, just my opinion of his work and I'm happy to admit that I like a lot of crap too, I'm a huge Bill Murray fan, I loved Lost In Translation.

I still agree with this quote....but, I do like many things about Lynch and I will see this movie.

Oh yeah, Bill Murray is not crap!
Give me a place to live in NYC and I will play in your band

I never took it as a personal attack, my curiousity gets stoked when it is suggested that a bunch of people who like DL are merely shallow for being tricked by a false huckster (my paraphrase).

Just trying to open a conversation, as your turns of phrase suggested an opinion contrary to most that I know, but without any sort of ".....WTF happened in Lost Highway" or "Twin Peaks was shit for these reasons" or whatever.

That is all. Am still interested.
It's like you put everything into a bottle inside itself.

the music was fantastic.
lynch sings one track (toward the beginning, something like "strange, what love makes you do" or somesuch). i read something about him recording the track and having to autotune the fuck out of it because he didn't like it. i thought it sounded cool. he co-composed another song "polish poem" or something like that, which i also really liked.

oh, and beck's "black tambourine" is in the movie at one point. there are a few WTF moments. er, i mean obviously, but he does a few things that i would never expect him to do. and it's fucking funny. i think it's easily his best on all fronts- visually, thematically, etc.

A family member gave me a Barnes & Noble gift card, so I went to spend the fucker.

Turns out David Lynch is going to do an in-store appearance at the Emeryville (small town next to Oakland where all the retail stores are) Barnes & Noble next month. He has a book out about meditation, I think.

David Lynch at the Emeryville Barnes & Noble. There's no figuring that guy!
