1. WTF.

2. Are you seriously tossing this up as an example to make your case?

Yes. They are humans and they count too. Or do they not?

For your consideration: These humans provide only source material. TV shows us what it wants to show us, thus cramming folks into whatever worldview the network wished to endorse (and note that cable networks are propagators par excellence of traditional role-patterns). Stories are made in the editing room, not anywhere else.

You do not get to learn anything about people or their motivations by watching reality TV. How exactly is this not totally obvious?

And still, Wife/Mom swap shows? Seriously?

Inside of nappies: often crap.

Babies: not crap.

I loved spending time with my niece and nephew when they were babies (they're 6 and 4 now, and are wonderful kids). So much fun.

I can understand people not wanting kids, but can't understand thinking that they're crap.

Also, I got to steal rusks from my brother's house. I love rusks.

I like it that the category for "Babies" here is "Entity," rather than "People" or whatever. It makes them sound like space aliens.

Up close and personal, babies tend to make me nervous, since my experience with them is next to zero and they tend to be extremely vulnerable, but I'm not prepared to call them Crap.

Never really experienced any strong pressure to have a child myself, somehow (I must be obviously unfit for parenthood), but I know it's a real drag for many women, and evidently some men too.
