Andy Summers.Very strange guy.

The Police is crap.
Andy Summers is the most valuable member of the group.Another good disciple of Robert Fripp.

Well, just because he played with him doesn't make him a disciple. Summer's influences were more jazz in nature, not prog.

Also remember that Summers was a lot older than the other Cops. He was in the last incarnation of The Animals after all.

I consider him more of a peer of Fripp.

I heard Sting saying that his music was made for people who wash windows , a music to be whistle.
I wouldn't listen to that easy-listening stuff at home
but I'd gladly do it in a supermarket .
Anyway , I think good pop/easy-listening music is better than dull , pretentious , pointless alternative post-punk .

He's a judge on some shitty celebrity sing comp currently being shown on UK TV. He's the truthful one.

The Rumblefish soundtrack is fantastic.
The single is the only tune with vocals, courtesy of Stanard Ridgeway.
Excellent song.

Yes,but Fripp's influence on his work is undeniable.Listen to "Mysterious Barricades".

And listen to all of I Advanced Unmasked.
That's more of a Summers record than a Fripp one.
Seriously, Fripp is no more of on influence on Summers than vice-versa.
I'm sure they taught each other a few things.

He's his own man and a brilliant guitar player.

This song fell out of the sky and onto my head the other day.

"What incredibly stupid lyrics!" I said to myself as I tried to unlearn the English language as rapidly as possible. I got as far as the "looking like something that the cat brought in" part before, you know, j'aurais toujours faim de flat saxophone.

And then I saw light in the darkness. Because I'm the omegaman.

Or perhaps I'm the demolition man.

You never know.

Really, if anyone can mount a meaningful defense of "Too Much Information", then you sir/madame, you will be Number One (Not Three).

Remember!

The Police recorded music in Montserrat!

The gods are angry!

Bradley, you are correct sir and funny too, the Ghost in the Machine album is not so good!

Still like that tune though, ambience and all...

The Police movie Everyone Stares is fun to watch, home movie clips shot by Copeland on Super 8 of the band on their American tours.
