DEBATE: Evolution VS Intelligent Design

Now, in order for anything to be intelligible, there has to be a principle which itself is intelligent to make it intelligible.

This makes no logical sense, as by your thinking nothing intelligible could ever exist without a previous intelligence. So why should we give your god any slack? Who's idea was it to invent an invisible man in the sky who loves us all, but does approximately fuckall? What was before god? As usual with you, the baseline argument is "Jesus is Magic".

Yes it does make a sound.

Actually, scientifically you shouldn't say yes to that one. The answer is 'possibly'. If we don't hear it and there is no instrument to measure the sound we do not know that it makes one.

That's as far as I understand it anyhow.

Sound is moving air, which doesn't require a receptor to exist.

What question? Matt you are asking one of those ridiculous theistic trick questions that one of you Catholic buddies told you to say.

So again Matt, the question is total invalid as it is a question that requires "God" to be in the answer. God is a figment of your imagination Matthew, when are you going to admit it. I know you don't really believe that clap-trap, be honest with yourself. You will be ok, I'm sure your family will get over it. But it's about time you stopped lying to yourself.

If you really want some help breaking free from the cult you belong to there are plenty of support groups etc.

The first step in solving a problem is to admit you have one.

I'm nearly in that camp. I don't specifically believe in a capital 'G' God, but I don't not believe in a God, either. I just say that a supreme being is one of the many explanations for our presence on Earth that wouldn't surprise me. And I do believe in evolution, and I share your confusion over why many Christians seem to be unable to juggle God and evolution in their minds.
