that cat is cute. yeah it's fat but not nearly as alarmingly so as everyone's acting -- what the hell? it's a cat, a spayed female cat, they are fat and fluffy, they keep you warm and are soft to pet and stuff -- they're for petting, not athletics you know? our cat is the same proportions, just smaller overall.

Just got back from a christmas holiday surfing and stuff.

The next door neighbours cat met us. She was literally screaming with hunger. It seems they left her with no-one to look in for over a week.
I went to the store and she sucked back two tins of catfood.
When they got back two days later, I went round and told them. He actually gave me attitude about the catfood I gave her. I nearly hit him.

Plus, you showed great restraint in not assaulting the neighbor. I'm not so sure I would have been as level-headed in that situation.

I have a cat working on getting fat. He is wild, fat, and so clumsy it's good he's my indoor-only cat...I'm pretty sure he would be dead if he had to live in anything but a wood-and-plaster box with me.

I feed them primarily Nutro, Indoor Cat formula. Probably decent enough for lazy/fat cats. It isn't very cheap. I do switch it up on occasion, as they seem to like variety...I'm not convinced that switching foods is bad for the cat, although if you switch to something that doesn't agree with them, there can be...repercussions...

Iams is crap. Pricey Purina horsehoof. Forget it. It gives both of my cats...repercussions.

I split a SMALL can of wet food from time to time as a treat.

Yeah, pickings for shows seem to have been slim recently--I haven't gone to many in recent months. Many of my favorite locals have split up, and not a lot of national acts coming through have tickled my fancy lately. Joe Lally was in town Saturday, but I didn't bother.

And as far as your fat fucking cat I have two suggestions.

1) Diet. You can get food for fat ass cats. Try to find something with a good amount of protein and low amounts of ash and magnesium. Lots of water and wet food, not so much crunchies. Don't put food out all day.

2) Daily workouts. Find something that the big fat fucker wants to do. Kitty fisher, bath tub games, milk jug plastic seal thingies, cat nip (in small amounts), ball and string, bounce the ball against the wall, etc. I find that the bath tub games are best because it's something that they can do without your help. Kitty fishing is a little involved.
