I have a copy of this on VHS, but the above link is better quality. Much funnier is the late '80s special Geraldo did on that nonexistent underground network of satanic cults that so many people got worked up about back then.

There's too much hilarity in this thing post about, but the most important thing is that there's a brief interview with King Diamond in it!! K.D. is also shown applying his facepaint, and, in a too-short piece of live footage, he appears to burn himself while trying to light some spooktacular stage prop on fire. I watch it with the lights on.

I really don't know why I'm about to put the 'other' side for Geraldo - I am voting crap, anyway - but as a Brit, the first time I came into contact with Geraldo's 'work' (apart from that anti-Fox documentary and piss-taking on the Daily Show) was when I saw this footage during Hurricane Katrina. Perhaps the only time Fox News has even come close to being respectable. It's telling that Geraldo (emoting wildly with a baby in his arms) specifies, "this is reality, this is no political spin, this isn't Republicans vs Democrats". It seemed to amount to an admission, when I saw it.

I saw it originally as part of an extended clip that (I think) Slate magazine put together, of all the TV journalists who suddenly remembered their vocation and got angry in New Orleans.

So, for being capable of indignation at man' inhumanity to man and having the channels and abilities to do something about it; and then not doing owt but bang on about his moustache, Geraldo is crap.

Geraldo is a piece of shit. Enough said.
