I really don't know why I'm about to put the 'other' side for Geraldo - I am voting crap, anyway - but as a Brit, the first time I came into contact with Geraldo's 'work' (apart from that anti-Fox documentary and piss-taking on the Daily Show) was when I saw
this footage during Hurricane Katrina. Perhaps the only time Fox News has even come close to being respectable. It's telling that Geraldo (emoting wildly with a baby in his arms) specifies, "this is reality, this is no political spin, this isn't Republicans vs Democrats". It seemed to amount to an admission, when I saw it.
I saw it originally as part of an extended clip that (I think) Slate magazine put together, of all the TV journalists who suddenly remembered their vocation and got angry in New Orleans.
So, for being capable of indignation at man' inhumanity to man and having the channels and abilities to do something about it; and then not doing owt but bang on about his moustache, Geraldo is crap.
