an aside: we should figure out who else that posts around here has mtr 90s - i have a mk iii. semaphore has a mk ii i believe, right jeremy lemos? what about the mathew barnhart/echo lab? anyone else reading this that does? there are tons of studer/ampex related lists - but all the otari ones i can find are totally inactive. it'd be great to have more knowledge flowing on these machines like you regularly see w/those other lists.

audio calibration isn't too bad to do yourself, i get a little more wiggy dealing with azimuth/tension issues. (since i don't have a tentilometer and my oscilloscope is dead) do you have an MRL or at least a tape with tones from a good known studio?

i think the problem is everyone who's good at this sort of stuff is busy as shit.

the two names in the area that usually come up are shea ako and soren wittrup.
