Newky Brown? When I was a teenager in Cheshire, we used to hang around the shops drinking this if we felt like projecting a more adult vibe.

If we wanted to be sophisticated, we'd be seen with Miller Genuine Draft. And we'd refer to it casually as "MGD", because we were that cool.

I was just quoting this.

In all honesty, I hate beer. I can't drink it fast enough or in enough amounts to get drunk, just enough to get chubbier. I do like Stella quite a bit, though. An guinness is nice, esp in french onion soup as part of the base.
kerble is right.

Heh heh, pardon my reminiscing... I was using your post as an excuse to bring up the era when I and my equally stupid friends thought we were badasses.

Splendid link!

I associate Stella too much with its (UK?) nickname (probably already mentioned) of wifebeater, but I guess it's not so bad.

I don't drink beer so much. Bitters with my dad (Hook Norton commonly in pubs near to the family home), Corona as Friday night disco juice, and Leffe when I can find it. I like Leffe a lot: friends in Paris got me onto it, weirdly.

Edit for half-arsed attempts to clear about a million typos in fifty words.

Just picked up the Pils. It's pretty good stuff.

If anyone is desparate for the aforementioned Westvleteren 12 or 8, pick up St. Sebastiaan. It comes in a goofy bottle that looks like stone. It's not as good, but it's pretty goddamn close.

Rochefort 8 or 10 is in the ballpark as well.

Drink that shit in the right glass, too.
