This band brings back so many memories of being in Junior-High/High-School and reading 'Circus', 'Hit Parader', or 'Guitar For The Practicing Musician'.

Kix must have alloted an astounding amount of money for ad-space (or just knew somebody with the hook-up) because I have such vivid memories of always seeing their ads for their albums, and thinking "Who? What?".

It seemed pretty unreal to me at the time, that some band wanted me to buy their albums, but I had never EVER heard their name anywhere else, only in those ads. Never on radio, never on Headbanger's Ball, or never even in an article in the same magazines for goodness sake - just in the ads. But they were on Atlantic Records , and this confused me because that was plastered all over my AC/DC cassettes. And AC/DC ruled!

At that time in my life, it seemed like they must have just been a metal band from a parallel universe or something. (But they did have an 'official-looking' band logo!)

WTF, 'Kix' - I still don't know you, not even one bit.

There is much worse than LOUDNESS. ROCK'N'ROLL CRAZY NIGHTS!!!

If you want the worst, you want Kick Axe. What the fuck is that bass supposed to be?

Three overlooked bands from that era:

D'Molls - 777

If Chicago had a Sunset Strip back in the 80's these gals would've ruled it. Good song.

Dogs D'Amour - How Come it Never Rains

Kinda Stonesy. In the Dynamite Jet Salon is a fine album.

Rock City Angels - Deep Inside My Heart

Johnny Depp was a proper member of this band before they released their debut album Young Man's Blues.

Oh, and I saw the Bullet Boys at the Thirsty Whale.
